The second and final season of The Mighty B! began airing in the United States on Nickelodeon on September 21, 2009 and the final episode aired on June 18, 2011.

In September 2008, the show was renewed for a second season with 20 half-hour episodes. Episodes 21 through 27 air on Nickelodeon and episodes 28 to 40 aired on Nicktoons.

Although season 2's first aired episode was "Dirty Happy" on September 21, 2009, the Halloween special "Catatonic" was produced as the season premiere.

In all, season 2 had 20 episodes, with 36 segments and four half-hour episodes ("Catatonic," "O Brother, What Art Thou?," "Stuffed Happens" and "Gorillas in the Midst"). Two recurring characters were introduced this season: bank teller Old Timey Banker and S.H.A.D.O.W. founder K.G. Bianca.

The season (and series) ended with the episode "Bess-E" and series finale "C'mon Get Happy!" on June 12, 2011, though "A Pirate's Life for B" was the last season 2 episode to air six days later.

Overseas animation studios used this season were Rough Draft Korea and Yeson Animation.

Season Changes[]

The animation is of higher quality this season, and thus various changes are made:

  • Several characters, most notably Bessie and Portia, have hair and skin tones either lightened or darkened.
  • Happy's fur changed to a darker navy blue.
  • The intro sequence from the previous season is still the same, but the title card has the 2009 Nickelodeon logo attached to it. For the first four episodes of this season, the background color of the title card was darker. For the rest of the season starting with episode 5, the background color from the previous season was used.
  • The Higgenbottom residence, while looking the same from the outside, now uses wood paneling inside. Ben and Bessie's bedrooms look quite different compared to how they appeared in the previous season.
  • The Recreation Center has also been redesigned, having very little in common with its appearance in season 1.
  • Gwen and Millie seem to have moved, as their homes this season look completely different from their houses the previous season.
  • Some characters from the previous season who showed up often (including Anton St. Germain, Hilary and Mr. Wu) appear less frequently and rarely have speaking roles during this season. Rocky in particular doesn't appear whatsoever.
  • Polka Dot Pictures received a new logo. It is a salmon pinkish background with spots, and a moose with green hair making a braying sound. The wordmark sits at the bottom of the screen in a fancy font with uppercase letters.

Additionally, it is established in a few episodes (such as "C'mon Get Happy!") that the second season takes place about two years after the first, which explains some of the above changes.
